But here’s the thing about the moon: you love it, you reach for it, you can’t stop looking at it. And you can never actually hold it. That’s Aarav and Chandni’s entire relationship compressed into one image.

There’s also something very deliberate about setting this love story inside an engineering college. Engineering is the most practical field in India  the most pressure-filled, the most future-oriented, built entirely around logic and outcomes and solving for the right answer. And yet these two fall apart there, in that environment. Because love has never once cared about logic.

Why This Cast Actually Works

The chemistry between them doesn’t feel manufactured. There’s something textured and unpolished about it that Dharma Productions films don’t always have. Soni seems to have given both of them the room to be messy.

My Honest Take — Should You Watch It?

Reviews are mixed, sitting around 3 out of 5 from most critics. The second half rushes. Some emotional turns feel like they needed more room to breathe. These are fair criticisms and I won’t pretend otherwise.

But here’s what I’ll say: imperfect films about imperfect love sometimes land harder than perfectly polished ones. The soundtrack is genuinely addictive  Aitbaar and Khasiyat have been living in my head for weeks. The performances are real. The questions the film asks about modern relationships, about what happens to love when adulthood arrives uninvited  those questions don’t go away just because the writing stumbles in the third act.

Go watch it in the cinema if you can. The big screen does something to this kind of film makes the quiet moments feel enormous. And there are a lot of quiet moments in Chand Mera Dil. The kind that follow you home.
